The San Diego Paintings

These paintings are a recent set that are inspired by time spent in San Diego and the Southern Californian area. I made this trip several years ago and have kind of "incubated" the memories and the feelings about my experiences there. The paintings came out quickly and with alot of energy, as you can see. My inspirations were memories of the quality of the light, the feeling of being a transient traveller in an exotic locale, the feel of the coastal breeze on La Jolla Shores and the many, many flowers and the way they moved in the wind.

They were all painted with acrylics and ink on canvas.
